Platinum Award for Universal Design Mark, RSP Architects, Singapore
Shortlisted for World Architecture Festival Award, RSP Architects, Singapore
The Building and Construction Authority of Singapore Universal Design Mark identifies and distinguishes developments that have gone beyond meeting the minimum requirements for incorporating user-friendly features in their development. I took charge of Jurong Westgate Mall's Universal Design and we were awarded the Platinum Award - which was the highest honor.
Jurong Westgate Mall is a large commercial shopping center located in a busy heartland. The mall was primed to be frequent by people of all ages. We used a family of 6 to plan for a user journey through the mall. The family consists of Dad and Mom, 2 kids, a baby and grandma.
